Black Joy: An Ancestral Offering is a multi-disciplinary journey through Blackness.
This piece is a duet combining mask work, dance, theatre, poetry, immersive, acrobats, stilt walking, and aerial work in celebration of black lives in ancestry, future generations, and those walking the earth at this time. The piece travels through the timeline of two black people's journey here on this earth: their journey from Africa celebrating traditional African lifestyle and celebration/ritual , the transatlantic slave trade, the Jim Crow era, civil rights, black lives matter, and all the way up to current times.
